I installed my first copy of Coppermine Gallery way back with the introduction of ZuneMAX.com in 2006 because I needed a simplified photo gallery management script that I could bridge with my WordPress blog. Since then I have grown accustomed to using the popular open source photo application to manage over 100,000 of my own personal photos on a number of websites.
I have used Coppermine Gallery to build personal photo sites and also for commercial websites where I present photos for users and also have members share photos with the larger community. The latest version of Coppermine 1.5.8 offers substantial upgrades and new features which make Coppermine an impressive tool for online photo sharing and website development.
My latest installation is bridged with Drupal for a large scale community website at Ocala.ws and things have been working very smoothly. I installed Coppermine as a sub directory at ocala.ws/gallery and integrated that with my existing users so now each member can have their own personal photo gallery. Coppermine offers a number of plugins including a share on Facebook feature plus others that make it highly customiable and easy to personalize with a decent number of available themes which can be further customized.
Check out the Ocala Pictures gallery or the Jamaica Photo Gallery for details on what you can do with Coppermine Gallery .
