I finally did it! My first job away from home! I was starting to get down on myself since I have been looking for a new job for the past three years. I have been constantly employed since I graduated college but my goal has always been to move away from where I grew up. When I say move away, I am not just talking about down the road or even a couple hours away. When I say move away, I am talking about multiple states away. Let’s just say that my relationship with my family is less than stellar and for that very reason, I have absolutely no desire to be anywhere near them. So I finally saved up enough money and took the plunge of sending out applications to different areas that interested me. And wouldn’t you know it, after I opened up my options a little; I got a call back within twenty-four hours of turning in an application. A flight, an interview and a two week notice later, I’m finally moved. One thing that caught me off guard after moving to Texas was that I was able to shop around for my utilities. Thank goodness for the internet. A quick search for Texas Electric Providers in my area got me going and I can’t wait to start my new position.

I came across Hootsuite about 3 months back as a way to manage my many Twitter accounts and only now am I realizing just how powerful an application this website can be for your business. now I have increased my fan base by 100′s of users without trying just because I have regular content updates and interaction with my twitter fans. Hootsuite is the best Twitter management tool out there and I would easily recommend it to anyone.

I have been a Microsoft OS user since my introduction to computers back in 1994 and then I got my real start on Windows 95 and its been Windows computers ever since. I am a Microsoft Certified Professional only because I chose not to take the final tests for Certified Systems Engineer and moved on to web development and marketing where I had begun to make money.

I actually manage some IT contracts for small business owners using my experience on Windows systems to maintain a domain and company network for a large scale enterprise and I also do some Windows tech support for select clients. these are specialty relationships I have with only a few special clients who I chose to assist for different reasons. I do not generally provide these services. I’m actually tired of Windows. I think its gotten to restrictive and cumbersome over the years. I have actually used Ubuntu and really liked that but honesty I am thinking about buying an Apple Laptop for my next PC.

I really like the Apple OS and I was thinking it was time to think different. I have a few friends who just love the Apple laptops so I thought that for my next machine I might bite the Apple. What do you think?

Google has taken an extreme step by banning employees from using Microsoft Windows OS. This may seem small but if you ask me it’s absolutely huge. That Google would take the extreme measures of actually banning the world most popular operating systems must be seen as a sign of bad things in the future for Microsoft.

With the availability of alternative operating systems such as Linux and even Chrome we are certain to see an ever increasing number of major players making the switch to safer more secure platforms. Microsoft has recently announced a major shakeup in their Entertainment and Devices Division with Robbie back and crew soon to be filing for unemployment benefits because of the massive failure of the Zune and Kin devices.

Who do you think will be the next major tech company to ban the use of Windows Operating System? Will anyone care if Windows just died?

LONDON (Reuters) – Web search group Google Inc is phasing out internal use of rival Microsoft Corp’s Windows operating system because of security concerns following a Chinese hacking incident, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.

Citing several Google employees, the FT said the decision to move to other operating systems including Apple Inc’s Mac OS and open-source Linux began in earnest in January after Google’s Chinese operations were hacked.

Google has introduced some new updates to the Google Docs on line office software which should make Microsoft worry for the strength of their cash cow Microsoft Office. Google Docs now shares many of the same features that made Office so powerful and the ever increasing power of Google should make them concerned when you consider how many new users are coming into the web through Google services and properties.

Each and every day a percentage of new users is introduced to office productivity through online services such as Google Docs and even open source applications like OpenOffice.org which offer free alternatives to the more robust but considerably more expensive Microsoft Office Suite. It seems that even if Microsoft were able to properly port their Office suite to the web it is doubtful they can do so for free and remain competitive with Google.

The all out assault on Microsoft includes the Chrome Browser, Chrome OS and Google Docs Office applications which are specifically designed to attack the biggest money makers in the Microsoft software suite. Microsoft answered with Bing as an assault on the Google empire but their effort is weak at best and no doubt a far more expensive and less succesful effort in comparison. If Microsoft has any hope of keeping a strong grip on software they better make some fast and serious moves in online office software if they plan on not becoming irrelevant in the future.
